Launched at New brighton today @ 3, went straight out to 30ft of water. The wind was steady at @ 8-10 kts, drift was too fast. So I moved into the kelp beds between NB and Capitola. Did a few drifts in there for nada. I moved back out into the open water off of NB and started trolling a frozen anchovie, was only moving for 10 min up wind when the tap-tap-bam! went off, only fishing in 15ft of water. Got her one the stringer and dropped down another chovie close tothe same area, a couple paddle strokes and BAM! big strike, missed the stinger, brouught up a shredded chovie, butt didnt stick. Trolled for another hour for nada and decided to get my 23.5" Butt on ice. cant wait to go back for some more Butt, aka-Kimo

I wish I could get out there this weekend Tom, but we have the Grandson for the weekend. His 2nd B-day tomorrow ! Believe me, when he hits five, I will be looking for a tandem to take him fishing. Hope you get out there, we will have to hook up another time before the season ends. see ya, Kimo

It took a bakers dozen to land my first Butt. The slabs you got earlier kept me trying. thanks, Kimo
