Tallpaul and I are heading out of Capitola on Friday.  We are going to launch from the small beach side of the wharf make bait and head over to the cement ship area.  I caught and released a nice thresher last week from the area.  I will be on chan 69.  We will be on the water around 0630-0700ish.  Come join the fun............Hoser  (408) 313-8651

i do not know much about that area, what is the access/parking like?
about 10 years ago i vaguely remember launching from the beach by the cement ship, but recently someone posted that we are not permitted to do so any more.  is that the case?

Wish I could join you Andy. But I gotta work. Especially since I'm only working Tues-Thursday next week!
Good luck!

You can pay $6.00 and launch from New Brighton state park.  Or drive your car down next to the wharf drop your yak off and then park up the hill.  We

If you get there early enough... and on a weekday, you don't have to get there that early. It's pretty easy to just drop off you stuff at the unloading area at the Crapitola wharf and park up the hill. It's a pretty short walk back down.

Good luck,

Freddie

Just a heads-up that the Begonia Festival is on Sunday at Capitola. People race homemade floats down the Soquel Creek. It will be crowded with tourists. I would avoid Cap on Sunday.
