kaya live well or shimanno live well?

Trying to get started on a yak just wondering what people like more on they're yaks. Just wanted some input so i could lean towards one system thanks. "just a new guy trying to get started"

I think most guys here make up their own rigs to save bucks... that way you can have more than one system. Some baits are very hardy, and some are very fragile, so they need varied handling.

Kayak anglers in Nor Cal don't rely on livebait as much as our So Cal brethren. (I'm assuming you're referring to a livebait tank vs a livewell)
Most guys here just build their own. It isn't very hard or labor-intensive, but those pre-made bait tanks are definitely nice. I haven't seen the Shimano bait tank enough to speculate but the Kayatank is a good approach. I think the best part is the fact that it's inside the hull, lowering your center of gravity. The main reason I don't bring my homemade bait tank (that fits in the rear tankwell) is because it throws off my balance....water is heavy. Nowadays, I just drag a collapsible metal fish basket that floats (not much drag and the bait will not die).
