Just got back from the family vacation to Morro Bay.  I got out on the yak one day out of nine.  It was family time so I couldn;t be too greedy.

Left the San Simeon Camp site about 6:45 headed to leffingwell.  Took the first entrance in; reached the bridge right before the boat lauch and the road was closed.  Turned around, back to Hwy 1 and tried the next entry road.  Backed down the launch took off all the straps and....Duh I left the key to the lock back in the tent.  Resecure the boat; back to camp; get the key; back to leffingwell.  7:45 I finally get to the water and ready to launch.

After a rocky start I spent about 3.5 hours casting swim baits and working a megabait around the kelp bed. I picked up two blues, three olives, two keeper cabezon (17" and 20") and a 6' sucker (yep the big cab floped in my lap and I ended up with a hook all the way through my finger).  I also lost about a 5 lbs vermillion at the boat.  It came up barely skin hooked but broke free before I could get a gaff in him.

All in all I came back with 7 nice fish and all of myself so it turned out be be a pretty good day on the water. I can't wait to get back down there next year.

Oh and before you ask I left the camera home and didn't get any pictures.

aka-kimo, thanks for the wake up.  You're the second reminder I got.
I though I was up on the regs but reversed the ling and cab limits.
I sure won't make that mistake again.
