I fished the bay Monday and Wednesday for nada! I was dragging a anchovy behind a flasher. That makes 10 attempts at Tomales Bay for halibut and no hook-ups, unless you count the dog nose sharks and crabs.

CHEERS!

Ah dude, whats up with that?!?  Maybe its the bright green kayak scaring them away?  Or it could be your leader length?

I was planning on trolling around out there. :smt012  Still gonna give it a shot.  Most likely will use live bait too.  Are you gonna make it out there Dan?

There is usually bait in the bay. I have seen lots at times out there at high tide. I am going to bring an ultralight with sabiki jigs in case there is bait to be caught or the popsicles dont do the trick.

I am getting pretty depressed about the bay. Anyway, my leader is is about three and a half feet, and you may have a point about the color of my yak......who knows? I have used live bait in the past, but lately I have been having a hard time making bait.

I would love to spend another $75.00 on diesel and $5.00 to park to fish the tournament Saturday, but I will be working graveyard shift on Friday and Saturday night, so I'm out.

Since I need a halibut for AOTY, I will likely be there on Monday or Tuesday. I'm just a gluten for punishment!

CHEERS!

yep.  Ben, the weighin starts at 200pm and ends at 300pm.  I'm shootin to be there around 8 or so to register and then maybe launch near marshall and fish that area.  great launch spot right there 1/4 mile from marshall.  Any hoot, i'll give ya a shout on the radio. ch 69

Dan, I've been told 2 and 1/2 feet is a good length.  It made sense to me because the anchovie is closer to the flasher but not to close.  Its just one of those things no can explain, hell, it took chucke a long time to get his first legal sturgeon.  Your tomales halibut will probabley come when you least expect it.  JTF

Jim-
Do you have a sailboat division?

I'd love to make it but I'm shaking down/sea trialing a sailboat in Tomales that morning/day so I'm sure I'll run into a few of you not literaly of course.  We may get there early enough to make a few drifts and then sail away when the winds pick up.
