Haven't read through the 8 pages of the "fishing for a living thread", but am hopeful somebody here can help me out with some remodel work starting in late July.  first, need to replace my kitchen counters with granite slab in place of tile.  I've selected the slab already.

Then I need some finish carpentry done.  Might also need to put an exterior double french door in bedroom and replace sliding door in TV room.

If you can do one, some, or all of those tasks, or alternatively can recommend someone, pls post.

Location Campbell 95008.

Thanks in advance.

Hey, for your countertops you might consider Granite Transformations.

It's granite composite that is fitted to go over your existing tile countertops.  We had our countertops done 6 months ago and love them.  Dollar wise it comes out favorable to granite slab just because of the labor saved from not having to demo your old countertops out, etc.

Email me if interested and I can send you some before and after pics.

Martin,
I get get tile contractors' prices for granite slabs, if you're planning to purchase the slab from a retailer/vendor (I worked for a tile shop for a while). However, you'll need to arrange for transportation from Monterey...and, well, that might offset the potential savings. It s/b noted that most of these vendors charge at different rates [tile contractor---general/other contractor---and retail consumer] and the contractor discount is usually substantial enough to make an impact.
I do have experience laying tile/countertops, and performing general carpentry tasks (just finished redoing our kitchen cabinetry). But it will cost you...approx 1 Hobie Outback LOL!
Good luck. And don't forget to utilize all of those internet resources we have available.
