reel-shimano tiagra i think-2 speed, also some less advanced shimanos on board.
line-western filament brand, 80lb i would guess, tight drag on the reel.
100lb western filament leader, barbless hooks, rods in the rod holders, everything gets hooked, they all got landed

i've had friends do those trip on the columbia, and they have had similar results.  Large numbers, large fish... place sounds like a sturgeon factory...
Never trust a man that doesnt like to fish...

Nice report Chris.  Thanks for the pics.

Hey guys, come on up to Portland.  I have an extra kayak and there are tons of sturgeon to catch.  I haven't wrangled any big ones from the kayak (yet), but catching a few dozen "shaker sturgeon" in couple hours is pretty common around here.
