I am going to fish one of the local lakes on Saturday. Main objective is AOTY points. I need to upgrade my LMB and catch a trout. But I can't drive very far. So my options are: Coyote Lake, Loch Lomond, and Pinto Lake.

That being said, does anybody have any recent info on these lakes? You can PM me if its top-secret info [wink wink nudge nudge]  :smt002

And lastly, is anybody planning to hit one of these lakes?

See ya on the water!

I can tell you that Coyote is in high pressure mode from all the fishermen. But if you fish slow using 7 inch Senkos in the back were the creek comes in you have a chance of a nice bass. YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT. Or just get lucky :smt044 Lucky is o.k. If I get my Tahoe back today I might go there Saturday. Anyway good luck

PK,

We were out at Loch Lomond Sunday. Female LMB are near shore and are waiting for the males. Some have spawned early. They are spooky, but catchable. I saw six small 3-5 pounders in a cove while another guy spotted a lot of larger ones across the lake. Light line and sight fish if you want to land one.

For what its worth I just had three trout dropped off by a friend who fishes LL weekly. They are all 12"+-. He said they (2) had limited in a couple of hours. Trolling a piece of Night Crawler first then switching to Berkley power eggs near Deer Flats. The two biggest trout were 15" - 16" soaking the bait. This is not my ideal fishing. I would rather troll and check out the scenery. I won't be out on the Bay this weekend due to the wind. I might try LL early on Sunday as it looks to be the better weather day.  :smt004

Well, I have decided on Loch Lomond. Mainly to avoid the boat traffic that Coyote will have. But also because I'm trying to convince a co-worker to go fishing w/me; he lives in SC and has a sit-inside kayak so LL is his best option.
I haven't been to LL in years. And never fished there from a kayak so this s/b fun. The bass there own me so I hope to finally figure them out. I'm targeting a 9am launch. Yellow T140 w/VHF ch 69.
Anybody else gonna be there?

wont be there 4/19 but my sons maiden voyage on his new yak will be 4/20.  Only fished it from a kayak once, so hardly a fountain of wisdom on LL.  We will be the large guy on a green tarpon 160 and a kid in a yellow P13

Make sure your hull is BONE DRY or else they're going to hassle the crap out of you.  Read GB2's post about how they stalled him out for days over a teaspoon of water.  Luckily my boat was brand new from the shop that morning.  Had I brought one of my hobies sitting in the yard, they'd have turned me around no question.  Very strict mussel controls
