Got a late start.  On the water by 9 am.  I sat by the boat ramp until 11 am.  No bites.  Started trolling around and did one lap....no bites.  Around noon I anchored up in the middle.  2 other boats were there.  From 12 to 1pm  I got 4 small DFG trout.

Got the last small one at 1:30 and I thought I was done.  Had it in the net and went to break down my poles.  I was bring up the anchor and notice it was gone.  It jumped out of the net.  So, I stayed until 2:30pm and the last fish I got was the big one.  24" and 5 lbs 9 oz.

They must have planted today the signs were up.  I heard yesterday the DFG planted 1,000 lbs.  Today fish must be the big ones from Lassen.

Wow Ken! You've been landing some BIG trout lately. Nicely done!
Never seen a sign like that before HA! I guess Shadow Cliffs is really trying to get the most out of their investment.
Thanks for the pics+report,
PK

Thanks,  guys.

I was fishing in 46 to 48 feet of water.  With the secrect green power bait.  Marking a lot of fish.  Big and small.  But, looks like the smaller ones were all over the place.  Had a 3 ft leader and a 5 ft leader.  Both, outfits were getting hit, equally.

What is nice about Shadow it that most of the lake is not too deep.  Most of it is under 40 ft and there are places where it get to maybe 60 ft.  Downside on weekends...is that the boat ramp is a made for one boat at a time.  So, if you got wheels for your yak.  I would bring them.  Also, there is a back pond with bluegill and LMB.  A little bit of a climb up the hill and down.   But, it is nice.

A few weeks ago a guy C&R a 18 lbs 1 oz or 2 oz from the main lake record.  Landed it on a rubber trout lure.  Biggest trout has been at 16 lbs.

Had a Canadian Goose start hissing at me.  He or she has a big white head.  Here a pic of it.  Next time I bringing my shotgun and have a popcorn fed goose for dinner.   :smt002 The mallards and geese will come up a few feet away from you.  I guess , they are looking for handouts.
