Let me know when you guys/gals get tired of the non-yak fishing reports and I'll stop. But it makes good filler during this offseason. [Yes, I know there's no offseason in fishing; just like there's no crying in baseball. But it HAS been slow lately.]

I went fishing after work today. After talking my better-half into picking the kid up from daycare, I went home and grabbed my fishing gear. Fished from 5-6:20. Went to Reservation Rd and worked to the left of the main parking lot. Maybe like a half mile down.
Caught and released 8 barred perch. Biggest was only about 10 inches. But they were all plump. All caught on a carolina-rigged Gulp 2" sandworm. I had to use an extremely heavy egg sinker to get it out there, I think it was 1.5ozs.

On the way back to the car, I threw a kastmaster w/a bucktail for stripers but not bites. Beautiful sunset though.
Ran into Damian in the parking lot. Thought that was funny because I called him to see if he wanted to go but it turns out he was already there!

Normal people might get tired of it, PK, but not me!   :smt003

Great report and pics - I like the lonely footsteps in the sand shot.

Did I mention that high tide at the Shelter Cove boat ramp is a perchy spot?  I don't know if it's more of a Spring/Summer thing...

thanks for report.   :smt001

Great report PK. And I never get tired of any kind of reports. Yak/non yak, it makes no difference to me. I just love reading about other peoples fishing adventures. Keep 'em coming  :smt004

I'm not normal either.  When I see a new report from you I click on it first.  Keep it up!

I don't think there is a problem with the non-yak posts.  Especially with the pictures.  Keep it up.

Are those perch good to eat?

Never tired of your posts. Great action. I have to get myself sown there soon and get into some perch. Love those little guys :smt003. My first one I ever caught in the surf is my largest so far. Talk about beginners luck. I got a big hubcap!

perching is honorary kayaking,  :smt002.

perch are white and sweet, but mushy and somewhat bony.

I would have to agree about the mushy part. I've tons of perch but only tried to cook them once. I felt like I was doing something wrong because I cooked it and cooked it and it just seemed very wet and yes....mushy. I couldn't understand how people thought they were good table fair. I'll have to try it again someday.
