A 14lb'er was landed a couple yrs back by a guy that lived in my park at the time!  Made the local rags! Might be a photo of it in the booth.  Yeah there are some big fish in that lake. (too bad they all have lok-jaw!)

C'mon guys! I'm just joking. Kinda like Mooch saying that there aren't any fish in Santa Cruz.
I've fished LL at least 15 times in the past 8 years. But only via rental boats and shore. Looking forward to taking my kayak there a lot this season. At least it will be a very scenic paddle as I get skunked! LOL!

Sorry bout the thread-jack. Only thing I have to contribute to this conversation is that my jumbo minnows are going on 2 months inside an icechest now. One died a week ago but the other 11 are fine. I have a battery-operated aerator ($8 at Walmart) but didn't want to waste battery, and it is annoyingly loud. So I use one of my old aquarium aerators, plugged into the wall socket in the garage. I feed them tropical fish-food flakes and algae wafers every week.

Lockjaw? That's the impression I'm getting about Lake Chabot from all the posts here.

Lake Chabot has a no live bait rule.  No minnows.  Worms are OK.  I guess they are not live bait.

Also, you can get minnows at Ly's 1051 E. Capitol Expy, San Jose, 95121 (408-629-9644), Fishery Supply 978 Story Rd, San Jose, 95122 (408-293-6593, Castro Valley Sportmen's Center 3794 Castro Valley Blvd., Castro Valley (510-537-8191) opens at 5 or 6 am weekends.

PK,  After rereading my post, I thought I should apologize for being so rude and condescending.  I truly didn't mean for it to come across that way.  My apologies PK.  Hope all is forgiven.
