I copied Hawk and tried one of my cheap 9' boats on a snowy slope with the kids on Monday.  It was a hoot.   :smt001

It's a Mainstream boat, Matt.  I started out in the ocean with those (after a few trips with the Hobie that I sold to Asa).  $300 at Costco for boat, seat, paddle - now that was a deal!  The boats they sell now aren't as nice and are a little more expensive, but they still have some good deals on starter boats for basic recreational stuff.  I'm much happier on a real fishing boat though - X-Factor or Scrambler XT for me, but the smaller boats and my cheap Mainstream tandem still have their assignments.
