I'd like to go rockfishing on Sunday but the WX forecast looks pretty bad:
.SUN...NW WINDS 5 TO 10 KT. WIND WAVES 1 FT OR LESS.  W SWELL 8 TO 10 FT.

A swell that large requires we launch at Stillwater Cove. But I'm not a big fan of paying the $9 fee and I don't enjoy getting seasick in my kayak. So I might have to resort to freshwater. Hmmmmmm.

I'll keep monitoring the swell for the next few days. If it really IS 8-10 then I'll probably go freshwater. But if it comes down to 6-8 or less, I'm going for it.
The weird thing is that the waves at Del Monte beach (near the beach hotel at the Canyon Del Rey exit) have been really small this week, including this morning. So maybe the WX guy is gonna be wrong again.

I'll be in for a rockfish trip as well if the weather plays nice.
NDBC reports does not look good right now for SUN:
NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT.
NW SWELL 10 TO 12 FT.

Ya, I should've clarified that the WX forecast I cited was for inside Monterey Bay. The current NOAA forecast for outside the Bay is much worse.
Pigeon Pt to Pt Pinos: .SUN...NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT.
NW SWELL 10 TO 12 FT.
Pt Pinos down to Piedras Blancas: .SUN...NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT.
NW SWELL 10 TO 12 FT.

I'll drive down to Carmel tomorrow to check it out before making a decision about Sunday.

HA!
Unlike the dirty banos on the coastguard jetty....I expect the ones at Pebble to be fully stocked...with 5-ply TP!

I was thinking of going out of Stillwater with a buddy this Sunday, but the forecast is making me nervous.  Might just have to wait until Thursday or Friday...  :smt009

My friend is not in to kayaks. maybe someday i will convert him. Hope your report is good and maybe i will see you out there on sunday sin coast. let that nine bucks go brother. take advantage of the hot showers.

Sin Coast, did you check out the water today.  How did it look.
The forecast seems to be backing off just a little.

Are you up for a SW trip tomorrow?  What time? Where?
I seem to always launch in next to MBK and fish the same water off cannery row.
I'm game for something else and would like to link up?

I'll be up for a few hours watching the Sahrks game so drop me a line if your are planning to go.
Or, if it looks to nasty to get out as well.

Ya, GO SHARKS!!!
I'm watching the game with some friends right now.

The WX forecast looks a lot better:
.SUN...NE WINDS 5 KT...BECOMING NW IN THE AFTERNOON. WIND WAVES 1 FT OR LESS. NW SWELL 5 TO 8 FT AT 13 SECONDS. PATCHY FOG IN THE MORNING.

I'll drop you a PM to see if we can meet up. But I think I'll check Monastery beach first, then go to Stillwater if its too rough. There's a golf tourney at Pebble this wknd so that could mean crappy parking.
I didn't make it down to Carmel but the waves at Del Monte in Seaside looked really tame this morning.

I wonder if Blake went out today?

Hi Sin Cost :smt006

I want to give a last try for some rock fish at Stillwater cove but I have never been around that area, would you mind giving me some hints of how to get to stillwater cove (Carmel) and whatever you think I should know before I go down there like, what time is open? Is there any charge$ to park there ? the season is about to close, I'm hoping the weather allowed me to do a last trip.
I"ll appreciate any information.

 Thanks
~~ramon~~

hope next Saturday/24 if the weather permits. according to this forcast http://magicseaweed.com/California-South-MSW-Surf-Charts/17/  until then, will be OK, even though is thanksgiving day
I would like to get my Kayakito wet and with a little bit of luck, will be nice to bring some fish home.  Last week I went to Limekiln for the first time, the place is nice, I catched a few small blues and gophers, nothing good :smt009, but I got to know the area, the whole place look fishy, the only problem is that there is not many easy places to launch, must of it is cliffs, but next coming year I will try to go more often. I live in San Lorenzo, I'm a new Kayaker, must of fishing I have done was up north, now is time to give it try to the south... :smt006
When do you want to go?

PK and Bulldog,
Sorry I didn't get my report posted as I had intended. PC problems , maybe operator
error...? 6:30 AM on Sat. @ Stillwater, I decided to pass. Watched for 30 mins. Mostly because I didn't know the folks I'd be fishing with and I knew the swell was coming up. Re-grouped and did San Carlos @ 8 AM. Not the best fishing ever, but managed to
send them home w/8 nice gophers, chinas and blues. No big take downs...  Grubbs and
anchovies proved to be the answer. Many small fish released.
