I not too confident on my inflatable

John:  you are one brave, and no doubt careful, angler.  with all those sebastes spines, I know i'd scared

The times I've seen him out he doesn't go out too far. As long as the puncture hole wasn't too big he could do an emergency landing at It's beach or maybe Cowells. I'd have to agree though. You are a brave man John. You wouldn't catch me out there in an inflatable anything unless it was a kodiak.

Definitely not knocking him for the inflatable.  I'm not saying that as a deterrent, moreso a commendation for his brass ones.  I've surf launched an inflatable u-tube "shark ring" out of both cowells and NBSB.  Stuck one of the chambers with a spine, but made it back just fine with less float is all.

am glad to hear john fished with others.  no doubt could have counted on a tow in case of need.

I once had problems with a Corvalus I bought at Mel Cottons.  That one was a skunky reel, but I ended up buying two more b/c I liked the price, and the latter ones did me well.  One thing I noticed on all three Corvalus that I've owned is that the sideplate screws kept coming undone.

As much as I LOVE shimano's - stay away from the Corvalus.

I actually used to fish Capitola a lot when I lived in Cali and Mooch used to give me a hard time because he always said that there's no fish in SC. So not a stab @ SC.

I really miss the Capitola kelp, it's a nice place to relax and fish.

......great, you guys can give each other a hug and do your high-fives...I'm still convinced that there are no fish in the "Mooch Triangle" (Capitola,New Brighton and Santa Cruz).....however, if you like to catch king fish....then that's a different story

Oh and in no way was I giving JLE a hard time about the inflatable. More power to him. I'm glad to be able to fish with ya buddy.
