Conditions look great. Will be my first time on the water this season.
If anyone wants to join, I'll be in a lime hobie revo.

My buddy is out there now in a green Old Town kayak with two outriggers. Good luck.

There’s about 15 purse seiners out there right now in Monterey…the most action I’ve seen for a few years.

Watch out for "Invincible". That a-hole honked at four of us near the red can W.5.7.25 and ran straight at us. Would have hit two yaks if they hadn't moved. We were all clustered together and out of their way. He was just being aggressive. I called coast guard and reported him when I had a chance. Not cool and very dangerous.
Always on the prowl in my PA14, except for most days. Then I have to settle for dreaming.

Water a bit more bouncier than expected with short duration between sets. Tried to make the best of it anyway.
Squid are around. I caught around 100 or so within a couple of hours before fishing for some rockfish on the way back. Didn't try for halibut since I was feeling a bit queasy.

I hope the CG follows up. That's inexcusable.

I had a big commercial boat miss me by a couple of feet one time, and it only missed because I looked up at the last second, and happened to have my feet on the pedals. It was a bit foggy, and I don't think he saw me, but it was close enough that it made me realize what a disaster it could have been...
