Monterey on Saturday 9/29

Launching from San Carlos Beach (next to the CG Jetty) on Saturday morning. I probably won't be there until like 7:30. But it sounds like sackyak might get there earlier.
The plan is to paddle out towards the red bouy where I have a few reefs marked on my GPS. Then maybe try for halibut. Or fish the kelp beds for exotics like sheephead and calicos and whitefish oh my!
Will have the VHF tuned to Ch 69.

Here is the current NOAA WX forecast:
.SAT...NW WINDS 5 KT...BECOMING W IN THE AFTERNOON. WIND WAVES
1 FT OR LESS. NW SWELL 3 TO 7 FT AT 8 SECONDS.

Where is San Carlos? For the sake of some company I was going to launch with SCAllen from MBK in Monterey with his clinic. How far is San Carlos from there?

Deva-  it is just past Cannery Row.  pretty much the area I intend to bring the clini anglers tomorrow.  shorter paddle.

I went down there earlier to see how much parking is. Its $8/day or 1.50/hour at the two main parking lots there (the one on the wharf and the one above the beach). There is also metered parking nearby. They chrarge for parking from 9AM to 8PM. There's a turnaround unloading area that has a 3 minute limit.

I took some pics. Pic 1 is the metered parking above the free unloading spot. Pic 2 is the staircase leading down toward the beach. It was pretty windy this afternoon.

There is a  also sidewalk ramp leading from about the middle of the grass area down to the beach for those who'd rather wheel it down and back.
