Had permission from the warden to fish. Met with side kick Alvarado at the Santa Cruz harbor at 6 am.On the water at 7 am. Short  paddle to the live bait guy to load up the bait tank. Notice lots of bait once outside the harbor on the fishfider. Drop the sabiki and load up on makeral and a few sardine. Start fishing once reach 55 ft near the one mile bouy(?). Condition is clear sky, no wind , no drift either. Slow fishing for the first 3 hrs. Even fly line a mackeral in hope of a ghost. Gave up the mackeral and switch back to a store bought halibut rig. Drag a anchovie aroung when the pole went bendo.  :smt003 After a few short run, brought up and net a large nice size halibut. Try the same area  for another two hours for nada. Start to paddle in to the end of the wharf.  Drop another bait, a sardine. Drag it around the kelp bed when pole goes bendo again. brought it up to see that it is another halibut. Not as big as the first one but definitely a keeper. Again bring down the net and  second halibut on the stringer. Drop another bait another quick take down. Second short run and line goes limp. Reel in to find bait half missing.  :smt013 Fish for another 2 hours for nada. Off water at 2:30 pm. Here the pixs.

WTG, Tin! Those are some serious WAF points :smt007 and additions to the cost-benefit analysis of the purchase of your trailer! Now that you've become a seasoned "salt," will I still be able to talk you into fishing Lake Chabot?

Way to go Tin!

Two Butts in one day. Gotta  love that! Totally jealous especially when I have the whole week off and can't go kayak fishing :smt013

Doctors order to stay off my feet for one week, due to bad ankle.

Again Congratulations Butt Man :smt003
