Seems like a cool hybrid. Not sure what the cost is. But for lake or delta fishing.

I saw one of these ay Claveys last week. Kind of heavy and not really quite sure it would be on rough water. Designed for sight fishing on flat water.

It looks very cool.  There's more cool toys than I have money.   I think the drop down keel would be a good option on many boats.

I demo'd the Versa Board.  It paddle nice and was super stable, but was a little heavier than I expected.

I think there's a future for hybrid SUP fishing boards/yaks, but only if they can keep the weight down to 45lbs or less.  A light board could be the ticket for accessing coastal hot spots without good trails.

yeah it looks cool and I did notice the weight. its as much as a yak. the simplicity would be cool and if there is some swell it could be fun to ride/surf when the fishing is slow

wow, isn't this like a cyclical return to how folks fished/dove in the early days of spearfishing?

Homemade longboards used to be the only game in town when guys were spearing WSB in La Jolla in the 40's-50's, at least form the stuff I've read.
SOT kayaks evolved from those huge wooden boards, and it's pretty cool to see these craft returning once again.

Here is a SUP thats caught my eye. Kind of a cross between a hybrid SUP/fishing kayak and a true SUP.
The hatches look very similiar to the WS hatch style. The disc at the left foot controls the rudder and it is being billed as a fast board. Corran Addison was the shaper and his Imagine surfboards company is producing.

It would seem there is potential to use an SUP for bowfishing...definitely for carp, and possibly for wsb in the kelp. I'm not sure about the legality of that last idea, but if you can spear them under the water, and conform to other regs, why not?

Anyone look into that?
Always willing to join others in the Monterey/Santa Cruz/Half Moon Bay area for a bit of fishing...feel free to contact me.

Dude, that Imagine SUP is badass!
Has anyone tried the OK version--the Nalu?

Yes, you can shoot WSB w/bow & arrow. In fact, you can legally shoot or snag every fish in the ocean except salmonids, stripers, sturgeon, and no-take fish (like yelloweyes, canaries, cowcod, white sharks...).

Demo'd the Ocean Kayak Nalu.  It's very stable and paddles well.  It's much slower than a real SUP, but I can see the Nalu being a nice platform for stand-up fishing and bowfishing.  It's a bit heavier than I expected but it's fairly indestructible and could be the ticket for hauling down the side of cliff to access coastal areas without an easy launch.
