and paddle out to south hamton shoal this is where all the halibut are happening
right now. we mite go as far as the pier witch is about a 3.1/2 mi paddle from the launch spot.

You can get to south hamton from Berkley marina just go left when you

Duane, at the top right corner of your red square where it hits the shoreline in the pic, there is a windsurf launch and parking.  I take that back, its across the harbor and you take the marina bay exit off the 580 then stay right where the road has a v.  Continue on until the end.  Sick launch spot, maybe takes a little time out of your drive and paddle.  Plus, there is alot of bait around there.  JTF..  possible, i'll be there.  :smt002

I wuz supposed to go pig hunting this weekend (starting tomorrow), but a bunch of crap at work came up and since I'm the boss, so there goes my 4-day hunting trip...

I'm thinking some butt chasing is on tap for Saturday...

Duane, what time are you planning to launch?  Count me in...

Oh, I will also have beer...

smelt or shiners will do or if you are hard up even bullheads can work
lot of shops have bullheads so check around

As for catching bait I throw a net in the slews that smelt like to spawn
in. sometimes the shiners are in there to read the posts and you will know whats
going on I will be out fri night night geting bait

if you want to fished the pier you want to launch at Berkley.
if you want to fished the flats you want to launch at Richmond.

You can fish the pier from Richmond but it is a 3.1/2 paddle to the pier
and when you paddle out of Berkley just make a left out of the marina
and it is about 2mi to the flats or just fallow all the boats there will
be a Lott of them don't think you can miss.  :smt009

Looks like I've got a free pass on Saturday, so I'll be there too. Tomorrow I may get out of work early and head down to Berkeley Pier to throw the cast net for some bait. I'll bring what I catch.
I just checked the weather and we should have a perfect day with little to no wind at all.
