I'm going to bump about N of San Simeon Thursday if anybody is in the area.  I think I'll try the bounceballing with rebar technique that I read about somewhere here!

Anybody else interested?

Man, I wish I could.   I took last tues and wed off for the opener.  It's great to see some central cal anglers on here.  I'm down in Grover.  so if you are ever going on a weekend post and I would certainly try to meet up with you if you ever need a fill in partner.

i'll go as well some other time.  i've been getting lots of hits w/out the rebar.

dogpound, we should try launching off the beach @ san simeon campground or even a little up from there if thats possible, i think it is.

rustic andy, i wanna try to go all the way to P.B. up there at least once before it closes in July. probably an all day trip.  good luck though.

that sounds good, would definitely be a much shorter paddle, I just had never tried launching off that beach.  My brother is visiting this weekend and I'm going to get him out there on a yak for the first time, so If the swell is not to big we may try to launch from that beach otherwise, just to make sure he gets off on the right foot we migtht also launch from leffingwell, planning on being there at or about 6 am on sat if you want to join. might also have another buddy from atascadero coming too.

Yeah, I am really looking forward to fishing down there around Simeon and Cambria. I've done a lot of shorefishing for rockies there and its usually good fishing.
Last summer I saw some guys launch yaks from San Simeon right next to the pier. They told me they paddle north a couple miles and catch tons of quality fish.
