I saw the marlin episode and enjoyed it. Molly got her rubber fish and watched it too.  She doesn't do that for Bill Dance or the other bass shows. Jim does some kayak surfing at Punta Colardo and has some skill for sure. Of course try that at Limekiln or Monastary.  The product promotion was a little over the top but if that's what it takes to air a kayak fishing show, I can live with it.  Let's see if we can get Jim to BH to troll a seal lure for whatever.  :smt005

I'm actually leaving in two weeks to film the first episode of "Celebrity Kayak Fishing" at an isolated resort in Brazil with Penelope Cruz, Jennifer Aniston, Angela Bassett and Lucy Lu.

Maybe I'll post-up a report.

Dude, can I be your rod caddy?

I have conflicting feelings about Jim's presentations.  On one hand, it's really cool to see them land these great fish off the yaks.  On the other, I get this image of this guy that needs to paddle a bit more that is basically just landing a fish off a yak.  All the other yak-stuff that we all do, and are kind of proud of, is all taken care of by Juan and company in the fancy mother boat.  I always get the feeling he just get's towed around, and when a fish gets on they take the beer out of his hand and give him the rod.

Although our game-fish are less spectacular around here, in many ways you guys are more impressive yak fishers.

I guess it brings up the old argument about what is yak-fishing?  Is it just landing a fish off a yak, or does also include the gnarly surf launches, the long paddles out to where the fish are, the risk of sharks without a mother boat handy for rescue, and all the other hard stuff we do to fish around here?

All that said, I watch Jim's vids every time!

Nicely said Dave! Ive never actually seen Johns rod but stories exist. It might take a whole motherships crew just to carry it. :smt006
