2010 hobie revo13????

ok guys need some feedback, $1600 OTD for a new 2010 hobie revo 13?? is that a good deal or should i just pay the extra money and get the 2012 revo? i was originaly planning on purchasing the mirage pro angler but duuude that thing is monster and heavy as heck. so im kind of torn between the two, please give info on revo. i plan to pick one up by next week, thanks

I would think that it depends upon the upgrades from the 2010 to the 2012.  I don't know what those differences are but a little research should yield that.

I got a buddy that's got 2 revo's and he was just telling me what the upgrades were but dude I can't remember squat if I don't write it down...I would say get the new...that's what I'm about to do....................   Get Some Bro...

thanks for the feedback guys, i will definitely get a Hobie but might lean toward the Mirage pro angler(2012) with the evolve electric motor. The wife and my four kids gave me the greenlight so might get one soon,just got a look for atrailer to tow that boat

 Hello there Lapu lapu! just saw a youtube vid on the Hobie AI, those thing hauls a$$. They appear complicated and lots of work to set up, i could be wrong.Can you or someone elaborate on the pros and cons of the Hobie AI?

my buddy had one when I first met him @ OC he wanted me to help him load it on his rig...my comment was...Damn this thing is heavy...he sold it and bought 2 revo's... little long for me 16ft... everybody I know that has one loves it though... longer range more stable...lots of plus's and if your "nudling" 2hr sleigh rides are a breeze...

The Revos are only 13'5''.  It's the Adventure that's 16'.
Your kayak choice should also includ the kind of fish you will be targeting and the launch access.
Could you see taking an AI to Elk?????

Whats up Tote! Ocean fishing is my primary target and aliitle bit of the Delta and AR but 90% ocean.

yep that's what I meant adventure=16'...and felt like a tank lifting it up over head with 2 people...for me the revo I can lean against my camper like my pelican and load...will be testing it in few days to see if it works................that's my catch got to be able to get it up on my ride...and be able to tie it down...and roll...

Very simple to set up Gino and they are fun to sail too.  A few NCKA guys are using it now like ChuckE, Nudling, Mistralwind, and another guy but I forgot his handle.  If the wind is right you can really go fast and get to your fishing spot quickly without much effort.  But, you don't always have to use the outriggers or the sail either.  Most of the time when I'm just fishing close to shore and fishing for rockfish, I just use the kayak.  It's heavier than the revo but not heavier than the one you wanted to get.   It's long and fast and if you got the legs you can really haul ass in it.  The outriggers or the "amas" as they call it really makes quite stable even in bad weather.  It probably will cost you the same for the  kayak you wanted to get and the motor.  Hope that helps and if you want to demo it you can go to CK in Oakland or wait for one of our hookups.  Not sure yet but I might go to MBK and sail this coming Saturday.

Thanks alot Rey for the good info, now cant make up my mind between the outback, revo or the adventure( i like the idea of having the opt to install outriggers. One thing I do know is I am for sure going to get a Hobie.Rey, so you wont be at the RBC? I did pm bloodbath to see if I can still get in the RBC, i know I am real late but HamachiJohn was kind enough to let me borrow the yak a little longer. So if I dont get the ok from bloodbath then i would like to join you in Monterey.

If you're spending 90% of your time on the salt, you probably don't want an Outback.  I have one and like it but would take my Adventure over my Outback in the salt any day of the week.
