OK T13 weight capacity?

I recently bought a used T13 and see everywhere that the weight capacity is a range (425-475lbs). I'm wondering what determines where in this range MY boat's capacity is. Is this range based on possible accessories e.g. rudder etc.? When I'm all geared up for duck hunting out of it I will probably be pushing the lower end of that limit and just want to be safe.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, I'm new to the forum and couldn't find anything through the search function.

Biased on Bare hull no hatches or rod holders optimum conditions realisticly it's probibly more like 350.

I weight 260, and carry a bunch of gear fishing.  My trident 15 is high and dry, but when I get in a trident 13 there is a lot water in the cockpit.  Most likely you wont sink, just be sitting in some water.

I think it also has to do with the conditions in which you're paddling. On a flat farmpond, you could probably get away with 475 safely...but I wouldn't expect the same in the ocean.
Just make sure the waterline doesn't reach up to the Rodpod hatch seal or water could potentially seep inside the hull.

While I have not loaded my P-13 to test for load cap I would say you are safe well into 400 range. The only thing is the boat will be less stable depending on where the weight is located.
I am 240 before I put on any gear. I figure when geared up with dry suit PFD and paddle I am in the 255 range.
I like to take more gear than I need.
My tackle bag is about 25 pounds
two rods 6 pounds
two weighted crab pots plus 100 feet of weighted rope two buoys 40 pounds
Full stringer of bottom fish and bag of crab 25 pounds

That puts me in the 350 range and I felt that I was completely stable....

Make sure your hatches are tightly closed!

This P13 has about 550 pounds on it.  And I think the T13 has more capacity.

I've had the same experiences with my T13... it's slower than my 15 [duh] and wayyy wetter. usually with anyone onboard over the 220 lb area, it seems to settle far deeper in the water., usually with about 2 inches of water in the cockpit and footwells.  maybe that's just a function of it's being smaller. But, friend Amos has an older P13 and it's nowhere's near as wet.

update 4 Dec. 10; on advice of polepole i emailed OK, got a reply and now have to get them a set of measurements. At least i've gotten a reply and the process started. Let's hope they have a solution in mind
