Please make sure you know all those "MPA's and MLPA's before you venture out fishing. It will cost you big time if you fish in closed area.

Alleged....the "fisherman," in question is a commercial fisherman, they have all his gps tracks on where he fished and he was even fishing a closure with NOAA folks aboard.  Its not alleged.....he was fishing in a closure.

For those who don't know, churchman is the Benedict Arnold of the NorCen MLPA process.  He played for the enviro side and supported those who want to strip us of our fishing rights.  Given his track record for supporting marine protected areas, I find it absolutely hilarious that he got busted for fishing in one.  35k is not enough for this dbag.

Thanks for the info Garcia, I hope the judge throw him the book especially if he was siding with the Packard from the beginning on MPA & MLPA issue.

Also Garcia, I still got those lures that you bought from Eric.

He must have known if he's a commercial guy,gps and all. Yesterday i saw a party boat sitting VERY close to the pinnacles, closed area. Another kayaker saw the same thing and wondered how they got away with it. Last week I saw 3 small baots, 2 from SC repeatedly drift over the same area for hours before leaving. I guess it's illeagle only if you get caught. :smt013

Those might've been DFG research/sampling trips. They're collecting data inside the Pinnacles SMR and also inside Pt Lobos. Free fishing trips if ya want to go! (but you don't get to keep any fish)
But most of the large boats I see inside there are commercial diveboats. Look for the red dive flag.

You crack me up Art. Agree with you but didn't want to say it in public. They should give you a show on Fox News.  :smt044
