If I worked in stadium security or some type of law enforcement, and one of my colleagues needed a taser to bring down some 17 year-old kid who ran onto the field.....I would call him a pussy right to his face.
Seriously, the guy [who felt the need to use a taser in that situation] is a straight up coward and a puss.
Tackle the kid and restrain him. Be a man.

kid shoulda been clotheslined and thrown in jail for a week, plus billed for the time it takes to process that trash.  tasing may have been a bit over the line but maybe it will make others think twice before pulling that crap.

idiots running onto the field is definitely a pet peeve of mine as a true baseball fan.  ban him from the stadium for life.

 I think the best thing I can remember on TV a long time ago was when a fan ran onto the field in a colts game and this linebacker flat took him out with a forearm rip. Almost certain he never tried that again. You want the full game experience of big time sports? How do you like it now........LOL  
 Looks like Sports Nation is just ripping this kid for running out on the field, You have too know there is going too be consequences.

I can usually stomach about 2-3 baseball games a year before I start turning down free tickets. Snoooooooozefest (except when barry was playing  ) I would go to more games if they incorporated a 7th inning fan on field chase and beatdown instead of a stretch. Inept security guards attempting open field tackles are the best....tazing just takes all the fun out of it and would completely ruin the experience for me.  
 
Baseball needs more shenanigans...yes to hgh, yes to pete rose in the hall, yes to fans on the field.....no to tasers.....they take all the fun out of everything

the kid had an idea, assessed the situation, made his move and it didn't work out for him. I don't think this is a big deal. He got what was coming to him, a little electricity never hurt anyone.
