just bought this yak for $125 its an islander tropic II. think its a perty good deal?

I'm not familiar with it, but what a steal!  I bought a hardly used Malibu II last December for $400.  I"m happy that I can take my son out on the tandem, but your deal for $125 is preeety sweet!

Did you try it out yet?  How did you like it?  It's only a good deal if you like it and use it often.  Good price thought!

fixin to try it out real soon! im lookin for a good quiet place in monterey to rockfish next month. stillwater cove maby? where do you think is the best place to go for a begginer? lookin for some kelp beds and rockies

My first time out last year after buying a used yak was at Stillwater South with SinCoast.  very nice conditions

a little advise, when paddling an unfamiliar kayak, stick close to shore for half hour to 45 min....just to make sure there are no leaks.

cool. ya i aint had a chance to run it yet due to work but i floated it in the pool all day to see if itd hold and there wasnt a drop of water in it!

It could be a different story with you on it along with all of your gear.  I'd suggest fresh water as your maiden voyage.

That's a good model - I have one.  I've crabbed out of it for years, and I've done tandem diving from it including a 6 mile round trip diving and fishing out of Trinidad about 4 years ago.  It's a very stable boat - we had no problems getting on and off while we were both diving,  It's easy to paddle solo, and I've caught salmon from it.  If you got it with the seats you made a major jackpot score.  Well done either way.  Have fun.   :smt001
