Another trick I've used on oil-canned boats is to place 4-6 bricks stacked together over the indention and pour on a gallon or so of boiling water. It's worked everytime.

Novel idea--I like it and will keep it in mind for next time (knock on wood). That would have worked--I was particularly vexed because I couldn't reach back there under the tank well and so couldn't "feel" what I was doing.

That happens to my Drifter pretty often.  What I do is lift the bow up high over my head, and drop it suddenly to shoulder height, maybe a couple times, holding the bow.  That always pops it back out.

I guess I should have checked my kayak as well. Both our kayaks were
sitting right next to each other under the son. I also had my cart under
the yak for a long while. I can't wait to get home to see if I also have the
same problem. Now I am worried.  :smt009

It's funny--having had a Prowler 15, Necky Dolphin, and a Cobra Marauder, thais has never happened to me in all the years I have been kayaking. Maybe my luck just ran out but it sure was enlightening to hear all the different techniques to bring to bear on this problem in the future. NCKA brotherhood (and sisterhood) comes together again.

Yours had the same problem.  That's why I said it looked like a piece of licorice...

You all probably just figured I was hallucinating again.

I had the same problem ( De-formed ) with my T13 coming back home from Fort Ross to Vallejo last week, but thanks God it came back as it was the following day. Did not do anything with it though except washing it downed.
