I've been trying to reserve some dates for Limekiln in Sept., but the online reservation system won't let me.The web says the campground is currently closed due to the Chalk fire.Does anyone know whats going on with Limekiln SP? When (or if) it will open? When can I make reservations?

Good question. And nobody seems to know the answer.
I called about 2 weeks ago because I was trying to make reservations for Memorial Wknd. I was told it probably won't be open until June.

Aaron, don't forget about the Big Sur event that is going down at Plaskett Ck campground Sept 25-27. I have 2 of the groups camps reserved. Hope you can make it.

PK, Would it work for me to join you on Saturday evening the 26th and fish all day the 27th (after you guys have the place dialed of course :smt002)?

on second thought... maybe I should switch my days off and stay the whole time

So this means we can't launch out of LK to fish in May? Or is this just the camping?

No camping. No launching. No fishing. No nothing. No comment.

Launch from Mill Creek at dawn and you can still fish the Cap Du Nord. Just be ready to paddle 4 miles each way. IMHO, I would rather paddle another 2 miles than deal with the rangers, parking fees and shore break. Good riddance.  :smt098

Mill Creek is certainly a close second with Kirk creek camp nearby and plenty of rf in closer to that launch. However, that is a long way back from LK and points North if the weather should turn snotty.I've always flown under the radar of the rangers and had pleasant experiences at LK. I hope the closure doesn't last all summer. :smt009
