Rockfish in Fresno?
« on: June 19, 2008, 05:34:32 pm »
For those in the area. I am going to have 7 of my originals hanging in the Marcellus Gallery in Hanford, CA of which 6 of them are marine themed. Nothing for sale (at least on my part), just some high quality natural history and science illustration.

The works hanging are from 7 very nationally renowned artists and myself. These artists have steadily worked for, among others, National Geographic, LA Museum of Natural History, Scientific American, New York's American Museum, Smithsonian, Monterey Bay Aquarium, U.S Fish and Wildlife Service.

There are two kayak fishermen/spearos in this show. Me and a fantastic marine artist from San Diego area.

Here are the details:
Kings Art Center
605 N Douty
Hanford, CA

http://www.webspawner.com/users/tamsnow/index.html
559-584-1065
open to the public and admission is free.

I'll be there Friday eve. for the opening.

 :smt005 :smt005  Friggen hilarious guys.

Your telling me.  Art in Fresno, I had no idea what was going on.  They just asked me to hang some paintings up.  I guess that means more wine for me at the opening.

Hanford is even more desolate than Fresno! It's hotter than hell too, so make sure you bring a lot of water.

For sure.  I am not looking forward to the three hour drive in 100+ degree heat. ughh!  The art better be really good.

It's not the heat that will get you, it will be the aroma. They raise a lot of cattle near Hanford :)

Drive a few more miles to Visalia, and go to Mearles Drive-in. Get yourself a banana milkshake, a burger and fries. Darn good grub. Or so it seemed after spending days to weeks up in Sequoia NP.

Scott

If you're going to drive to Visalia, you might as well go 30 more miles east to Three Rivers. There is a small lake there, and an ice cold river, the Kaweah, that flows into it.

Well as hot as it is now, I just may flake on the whole thing, walk down to New Brighton drink a cold beer or two and cast a pencil popper for a couple hours. :smt004

Thanks Allen, but it looks like we are not gonna make it.  Some moron decided to lite a half dozen fires on Hwy 1 near Larkin Valley.  Road is closed and backroads are a mess.

If they catch that idiot, we should rub him in blood and tow him around Ano Nuevo for a while!
