All - I've got camping spot #1 reserved Monday night Sept 24th.  This little camp ground has just 4 sites in the Marin Headlands almost under the GG bridge.  #1 is right on the beach. I made this reservation early this year looking for site #1 in late Sept hoping for ideal weather window between fog and rain.

I'd love to kayak 24th PM or 25th AM with others. I've got 3 extra parking passes to share for those interested in camping.

Is this a good place to launch from?  I've never been.  Seems like tide/currents could be a challenge. But maybe stripers and halibut might be game??

Can you Marin guys chime in with pointers on lauch/fishing tips?

Let me know if interested in camping or boating.

Cheers,

Gordo

You could take the tides into account and paddle accordingly, i.e. on Monday afternoon head towards Bonita cove then ride the tide in.  Tuesday morning you'll be facing a good incoming already in progress.  The beach there is a little steep as I remember so the launch may be difficult.  A group of us NCKAers fished this area last October while launching from Ft. Baker/Horshoe Cove just inside the gate.  As planned, it was a VERY small tide change.  I'll try to search for that report and post it.
