I am picking up my NuCanoe Unlimited Saturday from the dealership in Chico.

I have been following a couple sites and videos but have not noticed any discussions about putting additional lights in my truck bed extender.

They make trailer lights with magnetic attachments for ag trailers during harvest and I thought it could not hurt.

Is it too much ?
Is it not legal?
Is it just too simple ?

My thought would be to install on each upright.

I just have a flag tied to the end of my kayak, and I secure my kayak in a way that doesn't block my truck's taillights.

I had an extender years ago and put lights on it. Just for extra safety.
I think I bought the light kit from Harbor Freight.

I used a kit from Harbor Freight. These are magnetic but the magnets are not strong enough for pot holes. I used zip ties and electrical tape to secure them. This gives running lights, brake lights and turn signals. I think this much safer at night.

Got pulled over for speeding on my way up to Berryessa early in the morning awhile back. CHP officer told me that I was required to have a red light in addition to the red flag, for night time driving. I still have no idea if thats true or not, and don’t care - whatever it takes to not draw cop attention. I used a small rechargeable rear bike light, bungee tied to the end of my Outback, hanging out my truck bed (w bed extender). I used magnet lights for a minute, and then got annoyed w them, for various reasons. The bike light works great, is super cheap, and no wires.
