Been watching as possible between storms, been coming up quickly.
The docks at both ends are floating. Corps O Eng launched a boat on South end today. K-Rails are still blocking access. Saw a couple of SinK paddlers had just returned from an outing.

There was that one year it was overfilled and part of the campground was only accessible by kayak.  Hoping that is the case again now  :smt004

That was when they overfilled it, I think it was like 120% which covered the road in the NE end where the river comes in. I’m guessing they will probably do that again for the addtl storage, but maybe not straight away with so much more rain on the way right now.

I think that was the same year that the south parking lot was under water as well. It was nice to see it that way even though it was briefly.

Lake Mendo fishing sucks, so I would definitely not go fish there, but it’s nice to see the water coming up. Here’s a first week of January (up to 1/5 ) comparison.

The lake filling up is great news, but the fishing there is very sucky. Not worth visiting.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I read that large releases of water are scheduled starting today. Flood control. I just hope it fills back up.

I read that too, I understand leaving room in case there’s another deluge, but concern is real. I wish we had some areas we could flood and let it perc down into the aquifer like the guy in the Central Valley has been doing.

I was hoping that the launch would remain blocked off like it has for the last few years. It was nice not having boats on the lake. Oh well.
