Was planning on dropping some hoops tomorrow after work in Tomales. Anybody have any luck there this year? I'll probably be dropping them around the Hog area. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I haven't had a chance to do any crabbing yet this fall, but I did last year and hope to go back to Tomales Bay and Doran to check them both out again soon! Maybe around the holiday next week?

Got my limit in one hour after work today in Tomales. The crab gods smiled on me. Gave a few away to coworkers with plenty more to take home.

Way to go! That's the best crabbing report I've ever seen for Tomales. It's usually pretty hard to get a limit there.

My best crabbing outing ever. Tossed back anything under 6 1/2 inches. I've hit my peak. Makes up for my slow halibut season.

That's awesome!  Maybe do a overnight crabbing adventure!

That’s more efficient than going to the grocery store…

Went out Sat & Sunday (11/19 & 20), launched at Miller, on the water at noon for 2:00 slack tide. Dropped 4 hoops north of Hog Island near Daybeacon, in 25' . . . moved hoops several times . . . lots of small rock crabs & dungees . . . pulled out at 3:30 . . . skunked!

Sunday, dropped hoops between #10 and Weather Buoy for 2:30 low tide . . . a bazillion small dungees and rock crab . . . only 5 keepers (4 dungees) . . .

Next time . . . I'll get up early and hit the morning slack tide . . .

I heard it was quite busy over the weekend. Even saw an unusually high amount of boats out on Friday too. But it sounds like for most it wasn't too great. Tides are looking better coming up in a few days.
