This is not exactly fishing but it is a good activity that benefits the Community the Environment and us directly as beach users.  This event is occurring all over California including some dive cleanups.  Here is the link for the Monterey sites http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=24587 and for information for other areas try this link http://search.parks.ca.gov/cgi-bin/MsmFind4.4.exe?query=Coastal+Cleanup+day&cfgname=mssfind.cfg&resmask=mssres.msk&which=local&submit.x=23&submit.y=21

I always have lots of fun at this event and encourage you to participate at your favorite local beach.  Not only does it proivde a great feeling of contributing to the community, I do it with the family and score some good WAF ponits for future fishing  :smt003 .

Hope you can participate.

It's great that people are getting out and cleaning up beaches, but it's sad that we need to designate a special day to do this.
