Jason and I have the day-off - we plan to fish Linda Mar early Friday @ 5AM for Salmon / Rockfish. If things are slow, we will abort LM and hit HMB and join Bill and his Dad.

I will declare war on salmon and rock fish this weekend  :smt066 - I plan to fish (AFWO = Approval Factor Wide Open) Saturday, Sunday and Monday as well / weather permits - along the Coast of HMB and Linda Mar.

Remember fish rockfish before salmon or you will need to use barbless hooks the rest of the day...

That is a good point.

Also, if you switch to salmon, be sure you take off anything illeagal from your other rods.  You can possess barbed hooks, but they sure as hell better not be on a rod.

My guess is that this is gonna be a strong enforcement point this weekend.

Still trying to set up my davenport trip.

so - I'll just have to remember that I cannot have any barb hooks in the water (or on my rods) while I have a salmon on board my yak - even though I'm fishing for rockfish. This includes my sabiki rod :smt101

Joel,

Wish you a good luck Pare...Hopefully you catch your very first salmon this year..

Hana pa'a....isn't that a Hawaiian word for " Fish On ? "

Thanks kuya Kiel  :smt002

Yeah - I'm hoping for my first salmon of the year - can't wait to have it over some garlic fried rice and some jufran spicy banana catsup......yummy! Then I can brag to my neighbor who fishes from a boat and say "sino tatay mo?" (who's your daddy?)  :smt003

Yes - Hana Pa'a is a Hawaiian slang for Fish On.

sige!

Another way to deal with the barbless hook issue is to paddle back in with your salmon (if you're lucky) and throw them in your cooler with ice, and then paddle back out for rockfish.  We did this a couple times last year.  This way you can lighten the load and ensure your salmon don't spoil in the sun.

Alright, I'm seduced by LM.  I've got a 4 day weekend lined up, and after abalone last weekend up in Fort Bragg, am ready for fish.  See you Friday AM at 5.

Joel, could you post the LM directions?  Should probably add it to the Places to Launch forum as well (I can't seem to find it).
