Burritos (Birria) and sandos (the legit ones made to order from grocery delis) are the staple for me. I pack bento boxes from home a lot. Sometimes on the ocean, all I can tolerate is plain rice with furikake in the swell. If I'm on meclizine, I tend to stay away from things that are bad with dry mouth. I've done hydroflasks filled with protein shakes or jamba juice before on a hot day. Saimin from L&L in sacramento on a cold winter day is fun on a calm lake day.

Many fishermen spend their lives chasing fish, only to realize that it was themselves that they were chasing.

The "Salty" in my handle refers to my attitude, not the waters I fish

I get so worked up about fishing that I like to take the kitchen stress out of the eequation.  So, for instance my plan for MBK and camping at Laguna Seca goes like this two large icechests: #1 filled with beer, water and orange jucie.  #2 has 3 lagre pizza's divided into zip locks.  Pizza and beer for dinner Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Orange juice for breakfast, Pizza and water for lunch in the yak.   Story over...   Well, until I smell the mesquite BBQ smoke filling the salty air, I'll likely pay for a little more parking time and indulge!

Fall back - Brain's great cook!

im not huge on the banana superstition anymore but I like to give people a hard time sometimes.

-if you eat a banana, you are still "bringing" a banana on the boat  :smt005

I think it depends if it's exposed to air. Had to a friend bring a bag of trail mix (I jokingly warned her not to get one with bananas) and we were getting some bites and landed some fish. She opened the trail mix and it had banana slices, not a nibble after that.

I typically eat the banana before or after, in the car, and don't bring it on the boat, and still no bites LOL

I get seasick, so ocean I hydrate heavy the day before eat a plain bagel and cream cheese in the morning with a sugar free soda, don’t eat or drink otw as I wear a wetsuit with no relief zipper, I take a Gatorade for the ride back in after fishing. In Tillamook bay I bring drinks, eat breakfast, and pack some pre packaged snacks…. bars or candy, there’s a beach I can land on and wear dry fit clothes not my wetsuit.

I just went fishing this weekend, and I usually pack some sandwiches (turkey and Swiss is my favorite), mixed nuts, a bag of tangy BBQ chips, and a fresh fruit mix.

A must-have for me is a lot of coffee to keep me energized all day, so I bring along my trusty thermos filled with Kirkland's ground coffee medium roast. It's one of the best Costco coffee that I drink every day.
