Hey y’all. Sent here by a buddy that has a history of Kayak fishing. Been fishing for years, though always from the shore or from my sailboat. However, wanted a nice middle ground for shorter fishing trips, so just got myself a new yak recently (Compass 12). Excited to get out on the water without the work of puttering around in my Ericson 32. Tips and recommendations welcome!

Welcome! Ryan!  :smt006  I saw your twitter while verifying your account and was looking forward to learning more about you.  Seems we are sort of neighbors and I'd love to hear more about your Ericson 32  :smt004

Welcome! you're in a great spot, love fishing Santa Cruz...sounds like you have an awesome sailboat as well.  Sailed one of those from San Diego to Catalina years ago.

see ya,
Brian.

Oh my, that is what I get for using the same handle everywhere.

I love my boat, just finished a big chunk of work redoing it and the seagulls have already punished me for my effort. I love taking people on trips with it even more. I trade beer and bait for passage :smt005. tedski is familiar with that trade.

Hope to get a chance to be out on the water with ya one of these days. Fishing is always better with friends.

Welcome. SC is my home turf, so I'm sure I'll see you on the water there. I'm usually piloting my micro-yacht (yellow Hobie AI)...
