I usually leave my place early to secure a parking space at Millers but thought to try much later in the day to catch the outgoing and fish my way toward the bar. Got there after one, found a spot next to Blue Kayak Adventures with three trailers of gear. A group of kids. with over 20 yaks were on the edge of the bay at the end of the launch waiting to paddle. I got ready and they were in the water when I wheeled over with loaded yak. I went south of Hog through masses of eelgrass floating. Must be the start of die-off season for grass and explains the outer bay being full of it. Long float down to well below Toms Point and I get the bite, the only bite of the day. Nice fish, over 30 inches. I continued to fish and work my way back without a bite then decided to quit. Long pedal against the outgoing to get back to the van. As I've mentioned before, there is a sprinkling of fish around but very few and scattered. Gotta be lucky to hook up and hope the bite is a solid hook job. I still have to retrieve what's left of my jig in the fish gullet when I bury the carcass this morn.
