I may head to Doran but leaning towards Rockaway/Pacifica with HMB as a backup if conditions look too rough. I’ve seen more action at Pacifica than anywhere so far. Launching at the S corner of Rockaway is usually pretty good. You can observe from the parking lot and drive the extra 10 minutes to HMB if it looks uncomfortable.

So now my question is, what are doable swells for these locations. HMB is forecasted for 3ft@7sec-4ft@8sec from the NW with sw wind @5-10 gusting to 20ish.

Bodega is similar with 4ft@8sec out of the NW and winds 5-10 WSW.

My real question is will either of these be blocked from the NW swell forecast?

Friday morning looks ok at HMB and Doran, even better at Santa Cruz - I'm still looking at Doran, but will check weather again tomorrow

HMB sees some protection from a NW swell but once past the red buoy you're basically back in the firing line

I'm currently hoping for a quick early morning salmon at Rockaway Friday. Launch first light, off water by 8:15 AM.

Yeah that's my thinking. Avoid that traffic if at all possible. Lmk which direction you are going to head.

BODEGA BAY FISHING REPORT!  8/22/2022
The Salmon have moved in closer on the beaches! I have heard as close as 40ft! There has been multiple reports from Tomalas Point all the way to Point Reyes!    Kayakers are also getting LIMITS in the inner bay!  The fish are big! So stop by our shop and pick up your bait!  We have 2 sizes of Tray Anchovies and 3 sizes of Herring and anything else you need to get the job done! Good Luck and Stay Safe out there! Tight lines all!

So who's coming with me??? Lol. I'm sure it will be a "you should have been here yesterday" kinda story for me tho.

I'm leaning Rockaway or HMB. There were several fishing boats off Pacifica and a couple in HMB on the boat scanner/mapper but I didn't see any in Bodega. Only a small percentage are on that app though, so there could have been several not showing. But hopefully there are fish biting both places.
