Revo 16/Adventure w/ sailing rudder for trolling & covering ground. Revo 13 w/ sailing rudder for vertical jigging.

I had an Adventure for a couple years before getting my AI. It is a great kayak for covering distance, and it wold be a no-brainer if Hobie still offered a conversion kit to upgrade to an AI. Lacking that, I think the Revo 13 might be the better all-around option...

I loved my Outback.   For fishing a pedal kayak is much superior!   Buddy who had the Outback I bought when he went to Revo 13, out fished me greatly when fishing the kelp at Point Arena.   I was in a paddle kayak, Scupper Pro and spent most of my time paddling back in to the large hole in the kelp, where he could stay in the hole while fishing.   I now own Inflatable Hobie i11s, as they fit in the back seat of the truck with the camper on.   Don’t climb to the top of 9.5’ camper to store a kayak.  Revo if you are smaller, is narrower and easier to paddle for smaller guys, me I am over 6’ and 235 and the Outback fit me much better.   I would go with a fin drive versus a propeller drive as goes thru weeds and kelp better.   Ocean I would recommend a hard kayak versus the Inflatable, as don’t worry about rockfish fins.   I know people fish the ocean in I11s and I fish Mission Bay when we vacation in San Diego.

Being a lifelong distance paddler and formerly a distance cyclist, I have nothing to offer

If Stealth made a decent pedal yak in their usual hull style I’d probably jump on it

There was a company making something close to that but they went under probably because their pedal yak was around $5k 20 years ago If they were still in business I’d consider losing the Profisha in favor of their yak It was full prop and legit design, like a Ferrari of the yak world. Very fast and beautiful too. Heavy by my standards, something like 83lbs But then my first yak was under 45 and my heaviest (Tarpon 160) is 60+ If I remember right

The only Hobie I ever demo’ed was way to top heavy for me, couldnt see taking it on rough waters. Most of them look like they’d be a nightmare to deal with if you rolled in rough water. At least compared to the Stealth. Most of the hobie pedal yaks I see look like parade floats to me

On the other hand we have our eyes on the TI if we can solve the storage problem They look seaworthy and I’ve seen videos of those being sailed in big seas

They also look a little less like a shark magnet which is something to consider

+ my son is chomping at the bit to sail one and catch salmon while we’re at it

I don’t fish the ocean at all and most of the folks on here do, so their advice is based on that experience.

I fish bays, rivers, and lakes and almost everywhere have to get through shallow obstacles like grass, kelp, and general sh^t.

I have more Hobies than I should and they all perform like superstars navigating shallow waters, grass and all that kind of stuff. And for anything with tide and current I love my Revo 13… it performs like a wet Ferrari.

I thought I saw a note about a paddle kayak that runs as fast as a Stealth at a much lower cost.  If I recall, I think KPD mentioned that?  I forgot the alternative paddle kayak was, maybe KPD can chime in.

How about also changing the "You're", which is driving me crazy, to the correct "Your"?

I'm a big fan of my 2014 AI now, but may buy a newer Outback if one comes available.

What if he was calling us all his favorite pedal kayaks??  Like a metaphor or something?  There are certainly some days where I am telling myself "Be the kayak, Nolan... Be the kayak."

Not I. Maybe Charles who commented earlier in this thread?

I roll in a bigfish 108 now and love it. I pack it full of gear and for me, it is very comfortable and it is a stable platform. For such a kayak clutz I can stand up and fish off of it never worrying about falling off or out.

I received another hull because my main one got a hole it it and I patched it up so now I have two. I plan on motorizing the second one since I am getting up there in age and getting lazy :smt003
