Anyone planning to fish SC tomorrow or Friday? I was planning for Friday to let the south swell move out, but Friday looks to be windy and a fresh steep NW swell is supposed to fill in. I'm thinking tomorrow might be the better day to go.

There's supposed to be a huge south swell running right now. Double check the conditions before you load up your gear

I fished SC on Monday, and the swell was huge at the harbor. But, the fishing was surprisingly good, in spite of the swell. I couldn't find the halibut, but I talked to a believable boater who said he hooked 10 halibut (all borderline short, though), and I heard of a few keepers being caught. So, the swell might not be the bite-killer that you'd expect.

Another option would be Moss Landing. I was there today, and although I didn't get a salmon, there were a few nice ones (like 25 pounds) caught within about 1/4 to 1/2 mile of the jaws. The tide swing is small tomorrow and Friday, so getting in and out of the ML harbor should not be an issue, and the winds are supposed to be down. They say there is good halibut fishing north of ML too, but that might be affected by the swell...
I don't like stuff that sucks.
