I got my two  nephews onto kayaks while on vacation and they enjoyed the experience.  They're 10 and 12 years old between 90-110lbs (probably lighter but will probably grow very soon).  What brand model SOT kayaks would you recommend for them?  They will be using in calm bays first.

Malibu mini x is super stable.  Big Jim used to fish off these.

OK Caper, if you can find decent used ones or Eddyline C12.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

I have a mini and it's a bit wide for the smaller paddle.  While it is stable, it's also slow and requires more effort for any distance.  I was thinking 11', light, nimble would work well, and the caper fits profile.  Any other kayaks in that length I should tell them to look at?

Except for the costs, my granddaughters love my Hobie i11s inflatables.  Sometimes both get on the same one.  Started when they we 8 and 11 now, 12 and 14.  They do most of their kayaking in Mission Bay, San Diego.

BigJim is BigJim because he had a BigYak, not a Mini-X!  But the Mini-X is awesome!  I'd think a Tarpon T110 is easier to find and has similar capacity.

For kids?  I'd say pretty much any cheap SOT that's available locally.
