There's about a half pound of frozen sand fleas in my freezer that were collected for surf fishing bait. Anybody ever try putting a few on your hooks and sending them down for rockfish?

I'd say they don't match-the-hatch, but then again I've caught RF on nightcrawlers so...

If they're soft-shell I can see them working.

Never know unless you try?  :fish

I heard of someone catching halibut in the bay on sand fleas, so why not RF?

I imagine a few sandfleas got blown out of the sand in a strong surf and ended up in the rocks. Maybe a rare treat, but surely not novel.

Might go bettah if you grind em' up and put in a mesh bag on hook like steelhead roe...

Taste em'...if they got the stuff you'll know...

Be da rockfish... :smt006
