Hobie Vantage seat upgrade

In general I've been pretty impressed by Hobie's engineering but occasionally I'm like "what were they thinking"?  So it is on the Vantage seat for my 16' Revo for the incline control cable sleeves.  They are made out of some magical weave that seems to have mysterious magnetic qualities for attracting fish hooks!!!  Once having been hooked with a barbed hook, getting the hook back out without damaging the sleeve is nearly impossible, as my frayed sleeves bear witness. I don't really care what they look like, but I was getting worried about damaging the dynema lines inside.

Simple upgrade was to take some 1/2" split loom cable runs and cut them to length and simply slide them over the sleeves. Took me maybe 5 minutes and probably cost a buck in materials. Have been on multiple outings since installs, works great.

If anybody still has any of those old pockets, upgrade to the rubber pockets. Yes, they are expensive, but worth it!
