Daryl Hudson - http://www.ukiahaviation.com/
707-463-2655

A co-worker/friend of mine used him and said he was great.

Daryl was finally able to get back to me.  He says he's down to a one man operation at this time and can only offer occasional instruction while holding down the rest of the business.  Bad timing for me, but these problems are everywhere.

I'm back to looking at other options farther from home.

I fly paramotors.

That's hot.  I watch the tucker "risky biscuits" youtube videos sometimes.  Looks like so much fun.

Tucker is a big name in paramotoring, I even have one of his stickers and a bunch of shirts.  It is a blast, nothing beats having the wind directly in your face!
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

I recieved my private at Cal Aggie.....quite a few years ago but an excellent school.  Good planes and instructors (at the time I trained).
Plus at the time all students were "named insured" so no supplemental insurance was required.

Update:

I知 30 hours in to my accelerated program.  I知 finishing on Friday and will come back for a check ride at the end of the month.  14 days of accelerated training is pretty brutal, mentally and physically exhausting. It doesn稚 feel much like a vacation either for all the work that is piling up at the office lol.

I solo壇 day 7.  All night work is done which sucked this time of year in the PNW. Saving grace was did it last night so saw ALL the fireworks.

Based out of KTTD Troutdale just under the Class C PDX airspace in Portland. Renting a Piper Cherokee PA-28 180.  Looking at similar to purchase to build time and train IFR.

PM if you want info, school and instructor have been professional and I have been really happy with them.

Very impressive and sounds like the way to go. I put well more hours into it than that by going once or maybe twice per week over a ~year and still didn't finish (didn't help that the start of the Covid shut downs stopped the lessons).  I think an intensive curriculum sounds like a great strategy. Congrats.

What started as a bug to pursue a license over the winter came together yesterday, and I passed my checkride.  There痴 a long list of things I liked, things I didn稚 like, and things I would do differently.

Feel free to PM should you have any questions.

For now, I have my private pilot certificate, which as they say is a license to learn.  I will next be working on my instrument rating, and am about to close on an interest in a Cessna 182.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Congrats on passing your check ride. Be safe and watch out for crazy pilots up there who don't follow regs. I have mine and was going to pusue my instrument rating till I got nerve damage in my left arm and hand to which I grounded myself.

Be safe and watch out for crazy pilots up there who don't follow regs.

I've seen a fair few of those unfortunately.  I've also experienced a badly flustered ATC who had completely had it with two different pilots screwing around in the Delta not following directions at the exact same time.  I got the hell out of there.  Most of the time everybody is doing what they are supposed to be doing.  Most of the time.
