I'm looking for HMB area partners sat am.

Option a ) launch at Moss Beach Distillery out of Fitzgerald reserve.  Parking just north of distillary (at corner of Cypress and Beach Way) with short but steep hike to beach.  Heading north to Montera Beach looks like good area (but I've never been).  FIshing is permitted at Fitzgerald as far as I can tell.

Option b ) play it safe due to funky sw swell expected this weekend - launch from Pillar Point harbor - and head to point on map where HMB tourney winning Ling was caught.

Then mid morning - head back into harbor and drag bait for halibut on incoming tide.

I'm newbie-ish - so other newbies welcome.

Option c) I'm planning to hook up with kayakito at the Bean instead.

Cheers - Gordo

Hi Guys,
How good can HMB be these days for rockfish /cabs & ling?
I used to fish there all the time growing up...and we always did well just outside the harbor at the first reefs.
Sure things change and the pressure there must've been serious these past years.
Can a kayaker still do well there?

HMB still produces, not as well as the Bean but you can catch legal lings, reds and the other usual suspects. Good chance for halibut along the beach as well.
