Hi everybody,

My name is Ali, and I live in Sausalito and work in Berkeley. I've been spearfishing for about 7 years off of a SUP and recently got a kayak and started angling as well. I don't get out nearly as much as I'd like, but glad there's such a great community up here!

Apart from introducing myself, I wanted to say that I'm looking to give away a West Marine PHP-310 inflatable boat, a LEHR 5 hp propane motor, and a bunch of accessory odds and ends, including a bunch of propane canisters. The boat is patched and holds air well, and the motor is very new but has had starting issues of late. Long story short, the whole rig is more than I want to handle (I prefer paddling), and I'm happy to give it to someone who would put it to good use. If you want to call it a trade, I'd love somebody to show me the ropes for halibut fishing from a kayak later this year when they come around.

Either way, feel free to PM me and we'll get it sorted!

Best,

Ali

Welcome to NCKA Ali.  That is very generous offer.   I am sure someone here can put them to good use.

Ali-

In late March early April, come down to Santa Cruz.  I'd be happy to take you out targeting halibut.  NCKA bro trip, not guide trip.  Season really gets going in May and continues through September.

Fishing halibut in the Bay starts a little bit earlier, right around the same months. But bay fish average smaller and I'd say more suspect in terms of heavy metals and such.
