Hobie Inflatable - cool boat, but not for Bean Hollow

I wonder how they make it rigid enough so the peddles aren't flopsy...

I checked one out in San Diego. Definitely no pool toy, this is a serious boat meant for the air-mobile and short-on-space. It is quite rigid, although I don't know how they do it. 3 air bladders, under-hatch storage, the pedal system clips right into place, an easy to use high-capacity air pump, even a wheeled carrying bag - nice package. No rod holders yet, but they are forthcoming.

Did you take it out in any waves or wind?

Nope, but I hope to. I love playing with new boats. I'd like to know just how much the inflatable gives up to the poly craft. The only obviously discernable advantage of the new boat is its portability and ease of storage.

  A friend of mine wants a Hobie inflatable so he can take it on a plane.

 I wonder what complications might start showing up on this hull, with the drive mounting?  The OB, and other hulls have had the "Cracked drive well" issues.  I guess if the drive well on this hull develops a hole or "crack" air bubbles will be indicator?
  I'm positive that, if anything were to happen, Hobie will be right on top of the problem, as they were with my first cracked OB hull.
