Night visibility while driving

Coming back from Christmas in Los Angeles Monday.  Was following a pickup with a I think Pro Angler camo green in the bed.  Stuck out with out much visibility.  Thought it would be good to build a set of lights to hang on the back of the yak and plug in to the trailer connector receptacle.   Just a red LED clearance light on an attachable bracket would work.

Sounds like a good idea, should be easy to do.  Post up a pic if you put something together

Did they hang a flag? If the load extends four feet from the rear of the vehicle, you're legally required to have a red/florescent orange flag (or two if the load is wider than 24"), or two red lights for driving at night.

You could use an inexpensive, clip-on, battery powered, red LED light that bicyclists use at night. They have a lot of different attachment options.

If you use a Hobie mounting bracket as a base you can clip it into the rear hbar or a PA or outback. You can mount lights or reflectors to it and it is easy to remove and install. A little bit of wiring and you can plug it into your trailer wiring harness, or if you want to use battery operated that is easy too.

My yaks fit in the backseat.  Hobie i11s .   Don’t know how far out the back the yak stuck, but struck me as a good idea to have lights, and would be easy.   Dark and rainy.
