Sportsmen Expo Sacto 2022

Is this worth attending? Have extended family in town that weekend, and I’m hoping this would be a safe place for me, to escape the family crazy.

My main reason for going is to see friends I don't get to see all the time.  There are some descent sales, especially if you are looking for any kind of trips.

Sac ISE is a good show.  Last couple times I've been up there was specifically to check out some rod blanks and I've gotten good scores from both phenix and seeker (sale pricing was excellent).  Even though I go with the sole intention of not getting any other gear I still come back with a bunch of stuff I just can't pass up.  Fisherman's warehouse takes some of my cash, the madame lures booth has gotten my cash, the ling cod jigs guy gets some too lol.

Im good on blanks for this year.....unless seeker has some of the wild colored jig sticks they been flashing all over the gram.....but I need to start looking at some fly rods for some upcoming builds and I really need to score about dozen spools of floro leader spools and some 100-130lb mono. I'm sure I'll find other stuff to empty my wallet on.

The kayak fishing section is pretty solid. Lots of goods people to chop it up with and plenty of gear to check out.  Its worth the drive IMO.

I think it’s a great show to burn some time up and use as a break from some family. In the past the show got pretty packed on weekends. I usually try to hit it on a weekday to avoid the masses. I plan on going next month if they go through with putting it on.

Is okay.  I go, but is a nice winter break.  Want the best shows, go to Fred Hall show in Long Beach. 

I went a couple times to the Sac show, but really I came away disappointed.  Not wanting to rain on anyone else's experience, but I do want to say I went both times _wanting_ to spend money, and came away with not much, or nothing I couldn't get elsewhere.  Especially excited to go to the booths like Shasta Tackle and buy lots of stuff, but just didn't find anything I didn't already have or really want.  A lot of the booths were for trips like someone mentioned, but that's not something i'm interested in.  They did do a flycasting instruction and if I did go back that would be something I would like to do.

Come to Doran and I'll show you how to cast a fly.  I always bring a couple 5 weights to teach anyone that wants to learn.

Right on Scott!  If I do make it up (pending accommodations atm) that would be super sweet!  Basically only fished in streams, which isn't really casting.  Would love some instructions!
